The Living South is growing the old-fashioned way, with people telling people they like it.
A momentary break from our regularly scheduled programming at The Living South.
This is not a deep-pocketed, trendy newsletter. I'm just a guy sitting in his home in North Carolina and writing about the most interesting change-makers in the South.
This week, I'll be speaking with North Carolina's Anderson Clayton, one of the youngest political leaders in the South, about what she means when she talks about "the new South."
But social media networks are a terrible place to grow unless you pay them for advertising. That's because they throttle down links off of the social media platform and it's seen by fewer people, especially if it has anything to do with journalism.
All of that means The Living South will have to grow the old-fashioned way, by people telling other people that they like it.
If you would, consider taking a moment to forward this newsletter to two friends who like the South, and who like nuanced writing about interesting people. Tell them to sign up. It'll make a difference.
I'm grateful for every one of you who signed up for this little newsletter with big dreams. ICYMI, check out our most recent content below.
